Whether you have always been committed to an active, healthy lifestyle or you are embarking on a lifestyle change, the YMCA offers diversity, convenience, and is responsive to Members’ needs.

YMCA memberships are flexible and have NO locked-in contracts or long-term commitments.

Cancellation Policy

The YMCA of Brandon programs and services are subject to the provision that the YMCA may, at its absolute discretion, cancel, reschedule, and/or alter the content, venue or price of any or all programs and services offered. Credit will be given under the following conditions:

Program cancellations prior to program start date will receive a 50% refund. Once the program has started, refunds will only be issued for medical reasons. If a doctor’s note is provided, a refund will be issued, less the 50% cancellation fee. If the YMCA cancels a course, a full refund will be issued.

Membership may be cancelled at any time.  To cancel the membership and stop the payments, please visit the YMCA and fill out the cancellation waiver, or notify us by email. *Membership cancellations cannot be done over the phone.

  • Cancellations for bi-weekly continuous memberships need at least 3 days notice
  • Cancelled bi-weekly continuous memberships will cease at the end of the payment period and no refunds will be issued
  • Refunds will not be issued for bi-weekly payments that are withdrawn within the 3 day notice period
  • A $20.00 service fee will be applied to annual membership cancellations
  • Refunds (annual only) will not be issued until 15 days after cancellation
  • Refunds (annual only) will be issued in the name of the payer of the membership
  • Annual memberships paid by credit card will be refunded to the same credit card used for the membership. If the card is no longer valid, a cheque will be issued.
  • A membership that has lapsed for more than 90 days is considered a new membership and is subject to the Joiner Fee.

Note: A service fee of $20.00 is charged for all returned payments/declined credit cards.

Membership Holds

Members sometimes need to place their membership temporarily on hold for a variety of reasons, such as: illness, vacation, injury or financial reasons. While memberships are on hold, they aren’t considered active for registration.

  • Accounts can be placed on hold for 2-12 weeks.
  • The account hold is not subject to a fee; however, if a plus member chooses to keep their private locker, they must pay for the locker while their membership is on hold.
  • All accounts must be active for a minimum of 30 days prior to being put on hold.
  • If a member wishes to resume their membership before the hold end date, payments will be adjusted.

*Membership Holds cannot be done over the phone.

The YMCA of Brandon is committed to providing programs and services to people regardless of economic circumstances. Financial assistance is available for those in need. Please bring your completed form and supporting documents to the YMCA to set up your assisted membership.

Membership Cards

All YMCA Members are issued a membership card. Membership cards must be scanned at the Member Services Desk to gain access to the facilities.

  • A $5.00 fee will be charged to replace a lost membership card, payable before the card is issued.
  • A $20.00 fee will be charged for lost or unreturned locker keys.

The YMCA of Brandon reserves the right to close areas of the building in order to upgrade and maintain facilities and equipment to better serve the needs of all of our members. No refunds or credits will be issued due to these closures for membership or programs.
